Jesus uses the language of temporal judgment or apocalyptic language in these verses V. 29, But immediately after the tribulation of those days the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: Isaiah's prophecy of the destruction of Babylon: For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine....And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees' excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. (13:10,19)

Matt. 24:35-36: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only. Of what day and hour? The day and hour when heaven and earth would pass away (v. 35) Please compare 2 Pet. 3:10: "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up."

Please compare: "Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come." (24:42) -- WITH – "Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh."
