EQUPMENTS REQUIRED BEFORE START OF LECTURE BOOK (WITH THE PARTICULAR CHAPTER OPENED) ROUGH REGISTER PEN & CALCULATOR

TOPICS TO BE COVERED Applications of 1st law of Thermodynamics Isobaric process Isochoric process Isothermal process Adiabatic process Second Law of Thermodynamics Kelvin & Clausius Statement Equivalence of Kelvin/Clausius Statement Carnot Engine Efficiency of Carnot Engine Entropy Numerical of book and Past Papers

Carnot Engine: It consists of a cylinder with ideally heat insulating frictionless piston. Further whose walls are ideally heat insulating and base is ideally heat conducting. An ideal gas is enclosed in the cylinder. For the operations of carnot engine it is also supposed that source and sink are of infinite capacities.

Entropy: Entropy of a system is the measure of the molecular disorder Entropy: Entropy of a system is the measure of the molecular disorder. It is also defined as the measure of the unavailability of useful energy in the system.
