Design tips When working on design layout you don’t want to be able to see the toilet from the door. Many designers are creating separate toilet or toilet and shower rooms for multi-person use of the bathroom 2 foot minimum clearance in front of toilet 2 ½ food clearance in front of bathtub/shower
Universal Design in Baths Wide doorways (36”) and extra floor space (usually 60 inches turning radius for wheelchairs) Grab bars near toilet and tub Elevated toilet seat Lever style sink and shower controls No upper cabinets Tilting mirror No-sill, door-less shower stall with rolling or fixed chair Lower towel bars Easy open windows
