What you need to know…. Information from SQA for parents supporting their children through the senior phase – S4 to S6
What to expect From S4 your child will study for National Qualifications – starting with the subjects that they choose towards the end of S3 Their courses might include an exam at the end of S4 as well as coursework. Teachers will keep your child informed of when this coursework is due
Qualifications There are different qualification options to choose from It’s important that your child is placed at the right level for their learning Speak with your child’s teachers as they are best placed to advise you on what level your child should be studying at
Study support SQA has study tools that are free for your child to use: Past papers Study planner & timetable apps Ask ‘Alexa’ when their exam is due to take place They can visit www.sqa.org.uk/learners for more information

MySQA - no need to wait Not going to be at home for results day? Encourage your child to sign up to MySQA so that they receive their results by text and/or email from 8am onwards on results day MySQA also enables them to view all of their SQA qualifications online – which is helpful if they ever lose their certificate! The unexpected! SQA has services that can support your child during their exams and after they’ve received their results. Assessment Arrangements If your child is disabled, and/or has been identified as having additional support needs, please speak to the school as soon as possible.
