Problems of U.S. Cities Amy & Princess

Problems of U.S. Cities Seven major problems in US cities Gun violence Police brutality Expensive health care services Natural disaster Student loan (high tuition fees) Obesity

GUN VIOLENCE

The story of Nipsey Hussle gun violence cont. The story of Nipsey Hussle

POLICE BRUTALITY Police brutality : this is also one of the problems that violates human rights in the U.S cities. Black Lives Matter is an international activist movement, originating in the African-American community, that campaigns against violence and systemic racism towards black people. Police brutality is the abuse of authority by the unwarranted infliction of excessive force by personnel involved in law enforcement while performing their official duties.

EXPENSIVE HEALTH CARE SERVICES "Health care services" means any medical or remedial care or service, including supplies delivered in connection with the care or service, that is recognized under state law.

HEALTH CARE contd Health care services" means the furnishing of medicine, medical or surgical treatment, nursing, hospital service, dental service, optometric service, complementary health services or any or all of the enumerated services or any other necessary services of like character, whether or not contingent upon sickness or personal injury, as well as the furnishing to any person of any and all other services and goods for the purpose of preventing, alleviating, curing or healing human illness, physical disability or injury.

NATURAL DISASTER (hurricane) a natural event such as a flood, earthquake, or hurricane that causes great damage or loss of life. Hurricane: a violent wind that has a circular movement U.S most common natural disaster is the hurricane. Issues in the United States include climate change, energy, species conservation, invasive species, deforestation, mining, nuclear accidents, pesticides, pollution, waste and over-population The state of Florida was hit by a hurricane that did serious damage. U.S common natural disaster is the hurricane.

High student loans The most recent reports indicate there is: $1.56 trillion in total U.S. student loan debt There are 44.7 million Americans with student loan debt. 65% of seniors graduating from public and nonprofit colleges in 2017 had student loan debt. Average debt at graduation from public and nonprofit colleges was $28,650 in 2017, a 1% increase from 2016. 66% of graduates from public colleges had loans (average debt of $25,550) 75% of graduates from private nonprofit colleges had loans (average debt of $32,300)

Reason Costs of colleges grow way faster than inflation States continue to slash funds for higher learning Universities spending more on administrative salaries and campus amenities Students may not understand how student loans work .

OBESITY Obesity: is a medical condition in which excess body fat has accumulated to an extent that it may have a negative effect on health. Obesity could also contribute to productivity loss if obese individuals are less productive while present at the workplace. This may occur as a result of physical and mental health conditions that are more common among obese workers and negatively affect productive ability. the obesity rate among adult Americans was estimated at 32.2% for men and 35.5% for women; these rates were roughly confirmed by the CDC again for 2009–2010.

Obesity Obesity results from a combination of causes and contributing factors, including individual factors such as behavior and genetics. The incidence of obesity has risen in the United States over the past 30 years; 60% of adults are currently either obese or overweight. lets take a look at the contributing factors of obesity

Obesity One of the main links to obesity is fast food. Four basic reasons why are: Unhealthy ingredients Larger portions Lower cost convenience

OBESITY cont. the most common causes of obesity are overeating and physical inactivity. Overweight and obesity are major risk factors for a number of chronic diseases, including diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and cancer. They can also lead to overweight bias and obesity stigma.

Solutions Gun violence: the government should reduce the access to gun: apart from the armed forces Expensive health care services: reduce tax and make health care services accessible to everyone Natural disasters: be informed and take precautions about global warming seriously. High student loans: US with its leading economy should be able to take of student loans and so people can attain education. Obesity : reduce chemical from their food. More of natural products. (20% vegan life style)
