You have 2 minutes to list what you know about this picture

If we ignore the past we will never learn the lesson it teaches us If we ignore the past we will never learn the lesson it teaches us. Except for the third picture write at least three things you know about the picture

We will be damned to live out the consequences from our ignorance

What is a Primary Source? The direct evidence of a time and place that you are studying – any material (documents, objects, etc.) that was produced by eyewitnesses to or participants in an event or historical moment under investigation. photographs letters artifacts diaries Fiction journals memoirs census records cartoons ships' logs drawings charts/graphs newspapers works of art such as paintings/sculptures/quilts / poetry / music and songs autobiographies immigration records court or government records ledger books labor records sound recordings documentary film architectural landmarks recorded oral histories and people speaking for themselves texts or recordings of speeches maps from the place or time

What are some factors that can cause a primary source to be unreliable? How many ways can you think of? You have three minutes to list the answers to this question

How Reliable are Primary Sources? Not every primary source is completely reliable, because they all are biased to the creator’s beliefs or values. If a period of time has gone by the primary sources memories may not be trustworthy The primary source can deliberately leave out details The primary source may not be truthful in their accounts
