Graduation Requirements for a Standard Diploma English 4 4 Required English I, II, III, IV Mathematics 4 4 required Including Algebra I or its equivalent and Geometry Science 3 3 required Including Biology (2 of which must have a laboratory component) Social Studies 3 Including 1 World History, 1 U.S. History, 0.5 U.S. Government, and 0.5 Economics w/ Fin Lit Fine Arts 1 1 required In Fine or Performing Arts, or an approved Practical Arts course (2 years of ROTC waives Fine Art req) Physical Ed (HOPE) 1 Physical Education to include the integration of Health (2 years of ROTC or Sports waives HOPE) *waived for ACCEL diploma Foreign Language (College Prep only) Not required for high school graduation, but at least 2 credits in the same language are required for admission into four year colleges and universities Electives 8 8 required Online/Virtual At least one course within the 24 credits required must be completed through online learning. How can I prepare or study for the FSA? You have been practicing these skills in your English and Reading classes every year! Every text you’ve read and every activity you’ve completed has been aligned with the skills on the FSA. The FSA is a measure of your mastery of each of these skills. Did you take advantage of each opportunity to practice and receive feedback? How can I prepare or study for the FSA?

When will I know my scores? You will receive an official score report by mail sometime this summer. If you move or the address we have on file is incorrect, you may not receive your scores until the beginning of the school year. Feel free to call or stop by the school office over the summer to check and see if your scores are in. When will I know my scores?

What happens if I don’t achieve a passing score on the FSA? If you can’t demonstrate your mastery of these skills on the FSA this year, you will receive additional support next year in a reading class . You will remain in a reading class until you achieve a passing score on the FSA, or a concordant score on the SAT or ACT You will have several more chances to take the FSA in your Junior and Senior Year You can also pay to take the SAT or ACT anytime to attempt a concordant score *Fee waivers available! *All Juniors in Hillsborough County Public High Schools take the SAT for free in April!
