The Oxford School Website Guide for Teachers

Teachers’ Expectations The Teacher's main role is to create Term Plans, Lesson Plans and Study Guides for each class that they teach and to ensure that all the legal requirements of Meduca (Panama Ministry of Education) are adhered to. The key requirement is that a teacher should manage a grade book (both online and in hardcopy) which includes: Attendance Daily grades Appreciation grades At the end of each term Teachers will prepare an end of term exam and also provide a Study Guide to accompany the exam. At the end of the year the grade book will also show the final average for the student during the year by term and final grade

Home Room Teachers Home Room teachers have to create a Term Report Card for students by the end of each term. Home Room teachers will also grade students and make comments utilizing the following criteria: Study Habits Behaviours Observation Attendance THE HARD COPY GRADE BOOK AND THE ONLINE GRADEBOOK MUST BE IDENTICAL.

Attendance At the beginning of every day, teachers must take attendance. www.oxfordazuero.com

Formative Study Guides A formative study guide is a range of formal and informal assessment procedures conducted by teachers during the learning process in order to modify teaching and learning activities to improve student attainment. It includes homework, reminders, or any other activities that are not graded. You can add a formative study guide by clicking on the Study Guides icon on your dashboard.

You can add a summative study guide by clicking on the Grading icon on your dashboard. The number of summative study guides per individual subjects are given.

Homeroom Home Room Teachers will often use the Homeroom icon on their dashboards.

Homeroom Clicking on the Homeroom icon, teachers are able to see the list of their homeroom students, to send a message to their parents, or to take a disciplinary action. Take a disciplinary action. Send a message to the parents.

Homeroom The discipline icon allows teachers to send home a “yellow card” or a “red card”, and this way to inform the child’s parents about a problematic behavior of their child, or to send a “super star” to praise a child for some exceptional performance.

Newsletters By clicking on the Newsletters icon, you will be able to send a group message (news) to all the parents in your class.

Newsletters Do not forget to select the class, unless you would like to send the news to the entire grade.

Report Cards Home Room teachers will also grade students and make comments utilizing the following criteria: Study Habits Behaviours Observation Attendance

Checklist At the end of each term, you will be able to see your checklist with the tasks assigned by your coordinator. As soon as you accomplish the task, do not forget to confirm it on the website under the icon Checklist.
