Term 3 Lesson 1 When I grow up…

Term 3 Follow the steps on the slide – divide class etc. The questions are the skills an engineer needs to do their job, i.e. they need to research and evaluate etc. the beginning of the answer ie. research is one of the letters they need to keep and at the end of the quiz they need to put all the letters in the correct order to make up the word engineer. In the booklet they just write the skills they need – which ones do they think an engineer will definitely need and which ones are desirable i.e. being innovative is an essential skill for an engineer but not all engineers need to have negotiation skills this depends on the role/ position, therefore this becomes a desirable skill. Class is divided into two teams – you will have to guess the job for today’s session Your team will have to answer a variety of questions For each correct answer you gain a point Each answer provides a letter (beginning of the word) – as a team you need to work out the job these letters make The team who guesses the job correctly gets 5 bonus points
