JKC Seismic plan So far…

In operation since 1989 with three locations and a 25 person staff team. The Bayview JKC location has deep ties to the Bayview School community born out of Bayview’s Community School designation. We are currently licensed for 78 spaces with room rentals including a lunchroom and multipurpose room. We have a designated office across from the school’s main office (was the nurse’s room). JKC community programs: Acting, skateboarding, science, computer programming, cooking and more! Who are we?

We will be offering high quality, inclusive child care with a focus on social and emotional development. Current license capacity: 78. Current enrollment: K/1’s: 25 and Grade 2 -7: 37 for a total of 62 children. We currently offer between 8 and 10 Community Programs (lunchtime and afterschool programs) over three terms (Oct – Dec, Jan – March, Apr – June). We anticipate needing 78 spaces when we return to the new school. Our summer program will be offered out of our General Gordon location during the seismic process. What we know

We we will be at Queen Elizabeth Main exclusively (for the General Gordon seismic process we were spread between Queen Elizabeth Main and Annex). We will be able to secure enough spaces for approximately 60 children. We think we will be able to offer Community Programs in the second or third term of the first year at the swing site. We will have a dedicated office space in the new school. We know we will be offering PM care and we think we will be able to offer AM care. What WE Think We Know

Fall 2019 enrolment numbers (April 2nd we begin our September re-registration process). How our licensing officers will treat the new space with regards to licensed spaces. Which staff members will be working at which space. How much storage space we will have in the new school. What spaces will be available for our Community Programs and in which term the programs will start. The Unknown

AM Care at General Gordon from 7:30AM – 8:00am Transportation AM Care at General Gordon from 7:30AM – 8:00am AM care at the swing site from 7:30AM – 9:00AM PM care at the swing site from 3:00pm - 5:30pm PM care - bus to General Gordon at 5:30pm for latest pick up time of 6:00pm
