Year 3/4 Curriculum Overview Topic: Is there life on Mars? SCIENCE ENGLISH MATHS Solids, liquids and Gases We will be planning, investigating and reflecting on the states of matter and how they may change. Persuasion: Mission to Mars There is a mission planned for families of Wales to leave planet earth and settle on Mars. We will be weighing up the pros and cons and creative a persuasive poster and letter to persuade people to either go or stay. Children will choose their own position. Poetry/Song Writing our own space themed poems and/or songs National Test preparation will continue during the first half term. We will be exploring shape and time to finish off the year along with some practical problem solving and outdoor learning sessions. HOME LEARNING Reading, reading, reading!  Children will also have some spellings and times tables to learn which will come home in a home/school book. TOPIC SPACE: Science based Class novel: Fortunately the Milk… We will be learning about the solar system, stars and planets (one in particular, can you guess what it is?) OTHER CURRICULUM WELSH PE: Preparing for sports day with Miss Thomas Music: DAVID BOWIE – The Star Man We will be listening, appraising, learning, adapting and creating. We will be working on linked sentences this term and adding more information to our personal profiles.
