The Riggins Report Classroom News for the week of October 1-5, 2018 What we’re learning: Reminders: October is here! We are moving right along in our Fall unit and we should be wrapping things up within the next week or so. If you get a chance, ask your child what they’ve learned about seed dispersal! The kids have loved learning about the different types of seeds and how they travel! Word Study: This week we will be focusing on words with long e digraphs such as oe, ee, ei. We are continually working on our syllable types as well. The students have a syllabication assessment each Friday. Reading: We will be continuing with asking and answering questions to help identify key details in a non-fiction text. The kids loved our asking & answering questions Jeopardy game on Friday! Math: We will still be in Module 3. We are continuing place value and will be learning about expanded form and standard form. Just a reminder... Our PE day is Friday. Please remember to have your child wear tennis shoes that day! Don’t forget your 50¢ for Popcorn Fridays! ! Sofia is a great friend and always participates in class! She always has a smile on her face! Super job, Sofia! Early Dismissal Day- Wednesday, October 3rd Car riders: 2:05pm Bus riders: 2:10pm October 2nd- 10am Group picture of all students that participated at the fair this year.  They will need to bring any ribbons they won.  Kiddie Cheer Camp: October 1st-5th October 5th- Pep Rally and Green & White game at 4pm
