JCMS Lunch Expectations & Procedures January 2019

JCMS Lunch Expectations Walking to lunch Voice level of 0-1. Walk in a single-file line. Keep hands, feet & unkind words to yourself. Enter the cafeteria through the main entrance (not side entrances). Walk directly to your assigned tables for your teacher you go to lunch with. Sit down at one of the assigned tables. This will be your seat for the remainder of the lunch period.

JCMS Lunch Expectations Getting a school lunch: Voice level of 0-2 (not talking, whisper, or quiet conversation) Keep hands, feet & unkind words to yourself. Wait to be directed to get your lunch by a monitor. Leave Sweatshirts, hoodies and other jackets on your chair. Exit the cafeteria through the main entrance and turn right to line up for lunch. Follow the directions of the cafeteria workers. Return to your chair (the one you selected at your teacher’s table when you arrived to the cafeteria). Remain seated. If you have any needs, please raise your hand and wait for assistance. Do not get up out of yours seat without permission.

JCMS Lunch Expectations If you brought your lunch: Voice level of 0-2 (not talking, whisper, or quiet conversation) Keep hands, feet & unkind words to yourself. Bring the lunch to the cafeteria with you. Remain seated. If you have any needs, please raise your hand and wait for assistance. Do not get up out of yours seat without permission.

JCMS Lunch Expectations Eating your lunch: Voice level of 0-2 (not talking, whisper, or quiet conversation) Keep hands, feet & unkind words to yourself. Eat your lunch. Keep all food on your tray or in your lunch box/containers you brought. Pick up any food or trash from the table or floor around you.

JCMS Lunch Expectations Emptying your tray/throwing away your trash Voice level of 0-2 (not talking, whisper or quiet conversation). Keep hands, feet & unkind words to yourself. Wait until a monitor has directed your table to empty their trays/throw away their trash. Follow the traffic flow when exiting your table. Throw away your tray/trash. Follow the traffic flow when returning to your table.

JCMS Lunch Expectations Cleaning off your table: One person per table will need to clean the table each day. Rotate this duty through those seated at your table so that the same person isn’t doing it everyday. Cleaning the floor around your table: Every person at your table needs to pick up any food or trash on the floor. If you spill something significant, then you will need to let a monitor know so that you can sweep or mop up the mess. If you are careful, then the floor under your table should be clear and not need picking up!

JCMS Lunch Expectations Exiting the cafeteria: Wait to be dismissed by a monitor. Exit the cafeteria through the main entrance only. Walk directly to the line designated for your teacher. Stand in a single-file line next to the wall/divider. Voice level of 0-2 (not talking, whisper, or quiet conversation) Keep hands, feet & unkind words to yourself. Wait for your teacher to pick you up from the cafeteria.

JCMS Lunch Expectations Walking back to class: Walk in a single file line. Voice level of 0-1 (not talking or whisper). Keep hands, feet & unkind words to yourself.

JCMS Lunch Expectations Important reminders Damaging table numbers will result in a minimum of a Level 2. Please leave table numbers in the middle of the table. Throwing food will result in a minimum of a Level 2. Please eat your food. Maintain a voice level of 0-2 (not talking, whisper or quiet conversation). Yelling will result in a minimum of a Level 2. Sit at your assigned tables. Sitting at other tables will result in a minimum of a Level 2. Monitors will have class lists to verify your seating location. Keep hands, feet & unkind words to yourself. Seek assistance from an adult if you are having issues with another student. Hands-on, disrespectful, or bullying-type behaviors will result in a minimum of a Level 2.

JCMS Lunch Expectations 3-2-1 Exit Ticket Get out your computer, log-in to Schoology and open the CAT Time Schoology Course. Select the JCMS Lunch Expectations Exit Ticket assignment. Write down 3 things you learned about expectations for lunch. Write down 2 things you will commit to doing better for lunch expectations. Write at least 1 question you still have about lunch expectations.

JCMS Lunch Expectations Ask your 1 question of your teacher. If they do not know the answer, e- mail them to Mrs. Oentrich.
