WRITING A GREAT PARAGRAPH ANSWER Follow these steps and you should find success. DUE DATE : MONDAY SEPTEMBER 28th

Go through each of the following steps: Choose your question/topic and make sure you are clear on what is expected of you. Make sure you actually understand the question. Gather all the relevant information from the text***. Make point form notes so you do not forget anything. Organize your information into a coherent order so that one idea leads logically to the next. I would number the point form notes from step 2. Write a clear and precise topic sentence that satisfies all aspects of the topic. Write a first draft of your relevant information. Be sure to conclude your paragraph with a clear and precise summary sentence. Edit your draft. Improve word choice, wording, and sentence structure.

EXPECTATIONS ORGANIZATION: clear topic sentence, coherent main body of sentences, precise summary sentence. ONE PARAGRAPH. THOUGHT AND DETAIL: include all relevant details, do not provide opinions or use first person unless the question demands it! MATTTERS OF CORRECTNESS: MLA format must be perfect, do not use contractions, flawless spelling and punctuation MATTEROF CHOICE: You have chosen the best words to make your points clear. Your wording is precise and accurate. You have made the best punctuation choices.

DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME. Use of Laptop When you reach step 5, see me to show me that you are actually ready to write a first draft. Do not take a laptop unless you have seen me first! Finally—if you do not get at least 7/10 on this assignment, you MUST do another! DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.
