Serif Sans Serif Typefaces / Font Styles. . . A serif font is a type font in which a short line crosses the end of the main strokes of each letter. The cross-strokes guide the reader’s eyes when reading. Cross-strokes are indicated by the circles. A sans serif font is a type font which is straight-edged. Sans serif means “without serif.”
