Dissection tools Probe- to point to a certain structure Scalpel- to cut fleshy parts Forceps- to move a structure out of the way Scissors- to cut bone, and fleshy parts
Dissection Safety Always Never Wear safety goggles Wear gloves Wash your hands with soap afterwards Let the teacher know if there’s an issue Put your hair up Never Touch your face Eat or drink (including gum) in the lab Run Play with dissecting tools Disrespect the specimen Cut towards your hand Remove pieces of specimens from lab
If you feel unwell SIT DOWN!!! Put your head between your knees Send a friend to tell the teacher
Any goofing off, unsafe behavior, immature behavior, or disrespecting specimens will result in an ODR and a zero on the lab.
