INTOSAI WORKING GROUP ON KEY NATIONAL INDICATORS The main tasks within the standard is to answer the following questions: What are KNI and what is a KNI system? What is the role of KNI verifying the goal attainment in the sphere of the socio-economic development? How is data quality defined? What is the role of auditing the use and development of KNI in strategic task solving and strategic goal attainment? What are the peculiarities of using the KNI in knowledge-based economies and in developing economies? Besides the document should deal with the principles for SAIs application of KNI, role of SAIs in the development and use of KNI systems

INTOSAI WORKING GROUP ON KEY NATIONAL INDICATORS There is no Guidance from other internationally recognized, regional or national standard setters on audit of the use and development of KNI. Stage 2 INTOSAI WORKING GROUP ON KEY NATIONAL INDICATORS Developing and agreeing the exposure draft with the WG members Approving of the exposure draft by the FIPP Posting the exposure draft on issai.org Notifying all INTOSAI members and other relevant stakeholders of the exposure period (normally 90 days)

Stage 3 INTOSAI WORKING GROUP ON KEY NATIONAL INDICATORS Posting the collected comments on www.issai.org no later than 30 days after the exposure period has expired Analyzing the collected comments on exposure draft Forwarding the considerations regarding the received comments to FIPP Considering and consulting with FIPP whether the re-exposure of the pronouncement will be required

Stage 3 INTOSAI WORKING GROUP ON KEY NATIONAL INDICATORS Approving of the endorsement version by the FIPP Posting the approved endorsement version on issai.org Translating of the approved endorsement version into 5 official INTOSAI languages Reporting the Standard development process and presenting the draft Standard at the 10th KSC Steering Committee meeting

Stage 4 INTOSAI WORKING GROUP ON KEY NATIONAL INDICATORS KSC presents the endorsement versions to the GB. The GB considers the endorsement version and refers it to INCOSAI INCOSAI endorses the final pronouncement in INTOSAI’s framework of professional pronouncements WG works out executive summaries for publication on the INTOSAI website WG decides on an appropriate frequency of the pronouncement’s regular review
