What is Cengage/Mindtap? 2 + What is Cengage/Mindtap? Cengage is a textbook publisher that creates learning experiences that build confidence toward the future students want. Serving the higher education, professional, library and workforce training markets worldwide. MindTap is a new personalized program of digital products and services that engages students with interactivity while also offering students and instructors choice in content, platform, devices, and learning tools. The customizable, cloud-based system is a web portal students log into to navigate via a dashboard.

Why should we integrate Cengage into Canvas? How?? Links added in a Canvas course enable students to navigate directly to a learning activity in the MindTap Learning Path. Instructors can select which graded activities they would like synchronized with their Canvas gradebook. Cengage Learning’s LMS Integration with Canvas provides instructors and students seamless access to MindTap using their Canvas login credentials. Cengage Learning now provides integration with your Canvas course. This enables instructors to add Cengage Learning MindTap content to their courses, synchronize scores, and eliminate multiple logins for students. Cengage recommends adding the link to the course Navigation menu to make it more accessible. The link functions the same way whether you add it to the navigation menu or in a module. You can add the Cengage link to your course in one of two ways. One option is to add a tool link to the course navigation. The second option is to add an external tool link within a module. Steps to Integrate Mindtap into Canvas To add a Cengage Learning MindTap course to your Canvas course, complete the following steps. NOTE: This is a one-time process required for all of the Cengage integration enabled courses. IMPORTANT: If you add the course navigation link you do not need to add the module link mentioned in the Module Link section.
