Warm Up Why do people sign contracts when obtaining a service from someone else?

Wednesday, April 8, 2015 Objective: Students will be able to examine contracts and why people engage in charitable giving. Purpose: Many of you will need to sign contracts, so it is critically important that you are aware of the contents in a contract.

Reminders 39 school days remaining in the semester You must pass this class in order to graduate If your name is on the chalkboard, that means you still have to take the Unit 3 Test. This must be done during 7th period or after school.

Contracts Contract: a legally binding agreement between 2 parties It may be a physical or electronic document Contains the terms and conditions of the agreement

The Fine Print of a Contract By reading the fine print, you will understand exactly what you are agreeing to Contents Expectations Any charges How the contract can become void

Before Signing a Contract READ THE ENTIRE CONTRACT!!!!! Ask questions about any terms and conditions that you do not understand Check all monetary figures Make sure that there are no mistakes in the contract

What to Be Aware of Don’t let the salesperson rush you Never sign a contract that has any blank spaces Never agree to verbal contracts Always get a physical copy of the contract
