Taking the Relationship to the Next Level.
Intimacy.
Intimacy. In-to-me-see.
Intimacy. In-to-me-see. Going beyond the superficial to what really makes someone who they are. Their hopes, fears, doubts, plans, failings.
Numbers12:1-8. Miriam and Aaron began to talk against Moses because of his Cushite wife, for he had married a Cushite. “Has the LORD spoken only through Moses?” they asked. “Hasn’t he also spoken through us?” And the LORD heard this. Now Moses was a very humble man, more humble than anyone else on the face of the earth.
At once the LORD said to Moses, Aaron and Miriam, “Come out to the Tent of Meeting, all three of you. So the three of them came out. Then the LORD came down down in a pillar of cloud; he stood at the entrance of the Tent and summoned Aaron and Miriam. When both of them stepped forward, he said, “Listen to my words:
“When a prophet of the LORD is among you, I reveal myself to him in visions, I speak to him in dreams. But this is not true of my servant Moses; He is faithful in all my house. With him I speak face to face, Clearly and not in riddles; He sees the form of the LORD. Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”
Moses God’s Servant. Faithful in all God’s house. Speaks with God Face to Face. (Mouth to Mouth) Sees the form of the LORD.
Exodus 3:1-6. Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. There the angel of the LORD appeared to him from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. So Moses thought, “I will go over and see this strange sight – why the bush does not burn up.”
When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, Moses! Moses!” And Moses said, “Here I am.” “Do not come any closer,” God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.” Then he said,” I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob.” At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.
Exodus 33:12-22. Moses said to the LORD, “You have been telling me, “Lead these people, but you have not let me know whom you will send with me. You have said, ‘I know you by name and you have found favor with me.’ If you are pleased with me, teach me your ways so I may know you and continue to find favor with you. Remember that this nation is your people.”
The LORD replied, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Then Moses said to him, “If your presence does not go with us, do not send us up from here. How will anyone know that you are pleased with me and with your people unless you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all the other people on the face of the earth?”
And the LORD said to Moses, “I will do the very thing you have asked, because I am pleased with you and I know you by name.” Then Moses said, “Now show me your glory.”
God Desires Intimacy with us. He wants us to know; His character, his love, his grace, His forgiveness, his plan, his power In turn He wants to know; Our fears, our dreams, our weaknesses, our doubts, our failings – from us!
Building Intimacy with God. Be Alone. Be Still. Be Quiet. Be Open. Be Real.
