Job Performance Requirement 18-1 Using a Rope and Tool to Ventilate a Window

A Make sure the rope is securely attached to the tool using an approved slipfree knot. The tool is then lowered to the window.

Note: Before performing this task, make sure there are no firefighters or victims in the building or below the building. B Wrap a turn of rope around your hand and toss the tool out as far as possible in a horizontal direction. The tool is then swung into the glass and will break out the window. JPR 18-1B
