Improving VA Certifications Using Technology
GEORGIA STATE UNIVERSTY GSU has seven campuses throughout metro Atlanta. The university offers 250+ degree programs in 100 fields of study at the Atlanta Campus and 30+ associate degree programs at the Perimeter campuses and online. There are 51,000+ students and we serve between 1400-1500 military connected students each semester.
The Certification Process Student Request to use VA education benefits by submitting the online gVerify form. Each semester, students using GI Bill Education Benefits are required to submit the online gVerify enrollment form. gVerify The gVerify form runs off a server-side programming language called ColdFusion Students are required to use the Campus ID and Password to access the form. The API calls student data from Banner (mailing address, degree program, registered hours, etc.) to automatically populate the gVerify form & inserts data into Banner Once the student completes the gVerify form, the student receives an email confirmation. The Office of the Registrar receives an email notification that the student has gVerified In the future, we will be rewriting everything into Angular, a Javascript language
gVerify Students are required to agree to the terms and conditions of the gVerify form. VA policy information is included and informs the student of their responsibilities. Students cannot access the gVerify form until they select they understand this information.
Once student submits a gVerify successfully, an email confirmation is sent to the Registrar’s Office gVerify box. Certification requests are broken down by VA benefit chapter and alphabet. gVerify email box

Argos Evisions Argos reports are used by VA Certifying Officials for accurate and efficient processing. Reports are used to: Certify enrollment to the VA Monitor enrollment changes (e.g., withdrawals) Determine expected Post 9/11 VA payments Capture total number of students using VA education benefits Track type of VA education benefits being used
