Lesson 1 Outcomes: By the end of today’s lesson, you should be able to: Reflect on the diversity around you and propose reasons for migration into Australia. Understand key terminology for the unit

Discussion Questions: Have you heard of migration/immigration? Where/when did it begin? What can you tell me about migrants? INQUIRY QUESTIONS: Why is Australia home to so many different nationalities? Who were the people who came to Australia and why did they come?

Giovanni’s Story Before watching, consider: Why did/do people migrate to Australia? What thoughts/feelings people undergo when migrating? What implications may arise for migrants?
