Impact of emissions from coal-fired power plants in India on health Madhulika Gurazada1, Alexandra Karambelas2, Ashwini Chhatre1 1Indian School of Business, 2Lamont-Doherty Earth Observatory | Columbia University, New York, NY Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay emissions inventory (IND-15-2013) for two case scenarios and GEOS-FP 2015 Simulate the concentrations of BC, CO, NOx, OC, PM2.5, SO2, VOCs (GEOS-CHEM on AWS) Estimate the population exposure to coal Estimate health burden following GBD Hello everyone, I am Madhulika. I represent the Indian School of Business. In order to estimate the health burden attributable to coal in India, we first use the 2013 IIT-B emissions inventory and GEOS-FP 2015 to run the GEOS-Chem simulation model on Amazon Web Services on two case scenarios: one with thermal power plants and the other without thermal power plants. Once the simulation is complete, we will be estimating the population exposure to coal to calculate the health burden following the Global Burden of Disease study. Please drop by my poster if keen on knowing more. Thank you. C.23
