Richland Baptist Church Business Meeting Specific Organizational Change Recommendations: Change Scott Wells job title from Minister of Music to Associate Pastor and Worship Leader Create a new staffing position called Connections Pastor and have the Children’s Ministry report to that position. Richland Baptist Church Business Meeting Change Scott Wells job responsibilities from Minister of Music to Associate Pastor and Worship Leader Reason for Recommendation: Basically aligns Scott’s title to the job he has been performing Scott has been performing in this Pastoral support role under Pastor Hughes and continues doing so today for Pastor Southern Having a designated associate Pastor will assist the senior pastor in creation, implementation, and management of specific functions designed to bring about the unity and maturity of our church. Roles and Responsibilities: Continue leading the Worship service through his spirit-led music ministry Will provide collaborative support for the Senior Pastor Will provide leadership and supervision to various functions and programs within the church Impact to RBC: None: lateral move, will continue performing current job duties Date: June 9, 2019

Richland Baptist Church Business Meeting 2. Create a new staffing position called Connections Pastor and have the Children’s Ministry report to that position. Laterally move Ron Shelby Jr. into that position. Reason for Recommendation: To establish a position within our church that is focused on overall discipleship Have a focus on reaching new and prospective church members through spiritual awareness and growth Establish an emphasis on connecting with the community through various avenues and programs Establish an emphasis on spiritual growth in our church family through our various ministries Key Roles and Responsibilities: Will oversee and execute our First impressions program Oversee and execute our Life Group Ministry Oversee and execute our Discipleship Ministry Impact to RBC: None: lateral move, Connections Pastor will be initiated, but will not fully transition until the hiring of new Youth Pastor Date: June 9, 2019

Realign our open Children’s Ministry Director position to hire a Youth Pastor Reason for Recommendation: Over the past year minimal applicants applied for the Children’s Ministry Director position This Youth pastor position is appealing to seminary graduates and future pastors If we proceed with the reorganization, we will need to backfill the Youth Pastor position How do we cover the cost of this position? Date: June 9, 2019

Richland Baptist Church Business Meeting Financial Position: Annual RBC budget approved: $55,000 for staffing needs $48,000 reserved funds being held by the Finance Committee Funds can be used to support salary and search/moving costs Estimated Youth Pastor Financial needs Annual Salary between $40,000 - $50,000 (depends on experience) Other Benefits: Church Housing Health / Life insurance (ROM cost $18,000 annually, dependent on age and number of dependents) 2019 Total cost (salary and benefits) for hiring in September time- frame ($17,000 - $20,000) Targeted start date October Date: June 9, 2019

Richland Baptist Church Business Meeting Path Forward Pray for one week about the recommendations On June 16th, the church congregation will vote by ballot on the following: Making Scott Wells Associate Pastor and Worship Leader Initiate lateral transition of Ron Shelby Jr. from Youth Pastor to Connectivity Pastor and re-align Children’s Worship Leader under this position. Initiate hiring a Youth Pastor (with option of salary or salary / housing) Establishing a Search Committee (Church to vote on nominees) Work all media avenues to hire, then down-select and interview to have in place by year-end (Prefer by October). On June 23rd, the church congregation will be informed of the outcome Date: June 9, 2019
