LANGUAGE ARTS… ‘Wonders Reading Series’ Reading Skills and Anthology Stories (predict, infer, compare and contrast, genre…) Small and Large Group Reading Instruction, Collaborative Pairs and Groups, Guided and Independent Reading Weekly Spelling and Vocabulary Words Grammar: Parts of Speech (Nouns, verbs, adjectives), and Complete Sentence Formation Writing: Complete Sentences, Stories, and Appropriate Punctuation

AR… (ACCELRATED READING) INDIVIDUALIZED READING LEVEL USES ‘CHECKED OUT’ BOOKS FROM THE SCHOOL LIBRARY STUDENTS READ BOOKS AT HOME TO HIM/HERSELF ALONG WITH READING ALOUD TO AN ADULT EVERY NIGHT MAY TAKE QUIZZES 2 OR 3 TIMES A WEEK STUDENTS MUST EARN AN 80% OR HIGHER ON COMPUTERIZED AR BOOK ASSESSMENT ON 10 BOOKS BEFORE CHOSING FROM THE PRIZE BOX

BEHAVIOR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM… CLASSROOM (STICK MOVING SYSTEM): LOSE 1 POWER Level: Still a Good Day LOSE 2 POWER Levels: LOSE 5 MINUTES OF RECESS LOSE 3 POWER Levels: LOSE 10 MINUTES OF RECESS LOSE 4 POWER Levels: LOSE ALL OF RECESS IF BEHAVIOR CONTINUES TO WORSEN, A TRIP TO THE OFFICE, TIME OUT, AND/OR A PARENT PHONE CALL WILL BE MADE. A BEHAVIOR CARD WILL BE SENT HOME DAILY DETAILING THE NUMBER OF STICKS MOVED.
