Don’t just go to Church…Be the Church Session 1
Ecclesia (Ekklesia): translated Church comes from 2 root words Ek = out, and Kaleo = called, literally the called out ones…called out of the world and into Gods Kingdom…but it includes the idea of movement…coming out of the world…but also going out…sent into the world to call others out!
Mark 16:15-18 He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up snakes with their hands; and when they drink deadly poison, it will not hurt them at all; they will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.”
1st Corinthians 9:22-23 “To the weak I became weak, that I might win the weak. I have become all things to all people that by all means I might save some.” I do all this for the sake of the gospel that I may share in its blessings.
Matthew 9:35, 37-38 Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness…Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest.”
Matthew 21:28-31 “What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.” “I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, “I will, sir,” but he did not go. “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered.
