During Chunking/Turn and Talk I do/We Do: Watch video of 48-minute lesson, analyzing time management, student engagement, rigor, and assessment strategies. Y’all Do: Watch videos of specific disciplines, analyzing the same strategies.
After In small discipline groups, create a strategic lesson in the format provided, making sure that all five components are included. Briefly present lessons to the large group.
Afternoon Session Before: Compare a unit with a daily lesson. How are units created? What components make up units? During: In small discipline groups, use unit format to create a common unit. After: Share the final product and process used, identifying standards, essential questions, and strategic teaching components included.
