What does this represent? Starter

This is a very unique flag. COPY: Nepal has the only national flag which is not rectangular, being based upon two separate pennants which belonged to rival branches of the Rana dynasty, which formerly ruled the country. The moon in the upper part represents the royal house. The sun in the lower part symbolises a branch of the Rana family, members of which acted as prime ministers until 1961.

When was it? Why did it happen? Who was affected? This happened in Kathmandu on the 25th April 2015. More than 9,000 people were killed and 23,000 injured. There is almost 1 million people living in Kathmandu, which would have been affected. It happened because Nepal sits on a collision zone, whereby 2 tectonic plates (Indian and Eurasian) push into each other. How well did you answer these general questions?
