Samsung Comment Resolution 11 February, 2010

CID 17 Recommended update for visibility frame Figure 17

CID 26 Rename 6.1.2 to “Operating frequency range and channel assignments” Delete 6.1.4 Add the following text at the end: “There are seven channels provided for visible light communication. These channels are obtained by partitioning the visible light spectrum and are numbered as shown in Table 1.”

CID 33 The preamble first starts with a fast locking pattern of at least 64 alternate 1's and 0's. This maximum transition sequence provides the ability to lock the clock and data recovery circuit in the quickest time. The fast locking pattern length shall not exceed 16384. …

CID 50 6.8.1 : change frame flicker compensation to flicker mitigation Visibility patterns should be transmitted in order to minimize flicker and meet regulatory requirements in the presence or absence of dimming. If visibility patterns are transmitted without changing the clock frequency (in-band), the patterns used shall avoid conflicts with existing RLL codewords.

CID 68 Joachim has uploaded contribution to clarify details. Needs more discussion.

CID 73 Add in 6.9.2.3 By default, a 50% duty cycle shall be used for VPM. If dimming is required to be supported using VPM, the duty cycle shall be first communicated to the receiver by using the visibility frame. After communication, subsequent frames from the transmitter use VPM dimming as specified in 6.9.2.3.1. The transmitter should check the receiver’s capability for dimming support before dimming using VPM.

CID 78 GF(256) RS encoder 4B6B encoder 8 bits 4 bits 12 bits Add figure in 6.9.2.3.2 Clarify. The RS codeword (d1, .. d8) from the GF(256) RS code is broken into 2 nibbles (d1, ..,d4) and (d5,..,d8). These nibbles are sent MSB first to the 4B6B encoder.

CID 102 Discussion with Intel to integrate all capabilities into single IE. Pending on Samsung.

CID 107 To TE: Please make a column in Table 73-MAC command frames 0x0f Multiple channel assignment 7.4.14 Please make a subclause 7.4.14 Multiple channel assignment command Refer contribution 15-09-0099-00-0007-tg7-Subclauses 7.4.14

CID 108 To TE: Please make a column in Table 73-MAC command frames 0x0g Channel hopping command 7.4.15 Please make a subclause 7.4.15 Channel hopping command Refer contribution 15-09-0100-00-0007-tg7-Subclauses 7.4.15

CID 116 To TE: Please replace with contribution 15-09-0098-00-0007-tg7-Subclauses 7.4.12

CID 117 To TE: Same comment with CID 116 Please refer contribution 15-09-0098-00-0007-tg7-Subclauses 7.4.12

CID 120 – 1/4 To TE: Table 77,78 and 85 is combined into table 85 which is placed in subclause 7.9.1(Refer CID 161 and contribution 15-09-0103-00-0007-tg7-Modified Text Clauses 7.9). Table 77,78 and 85 is related with mobility command. Some column need to be moved to other place to explain separately, because it is not for the mobility. We made new subclause(7.4.16) and text for explanation.

CID 120 – 2/4 To TE: Delete table 77 and 78 in page 151,152. Explain Src_multi_info, Des_multi_info Please refer CID 107 Explain H_pattern H_pattern: Please refer CID 108 Explain Src_mode Src_mode: delete Explain Mode_type Mode_type:delete

CID 120 – 3/4 To TE: Explain VF_info_type Please make a column in Table 73-MAC command frames 0x0h Visible Frame Transmission command 7.4.16 Please make a subclause 7.4.16 Visible Frame Transmission command Refer contribution 15-09-0101-00-0007-tg7-Subclauses 7.4.16

CID 120 – 4/4 To TE: Explain S_release_slot Figure 1 will be replaced by figure 48 in page 60 based on CID #2. Star and P2P topology are explained but broadcast mode does not explained in 5.3 Network topologies. Please make subclause 5.3.3 Broadcast formation and insert following sentence. In a broadcast mode, the communication should be uni-directional which is illustrated in Figure 1. In IEEE 802.15.7, broadcast mode should be announced through the preamble in subclause 6.4.1.1. When the broadcast mode is set, the device should prevents a transmission of uplink data. To support broadcast mode, the coordinator should give the information about the starting and ending points of the broadcast mode to the device.

CID 121 To TE: Delete Table 78 Refer CID 120. Table 77,78,85 are combined.

CID 125 Had discussion on this item between Intel and Samsung. Given to Intel for making final recommendation
