GENERAL AND PROVINCE CHAPTER STATEMENT Work zealously with women and children especially those who trafficked, forced to migrate and oppressed by abject poverty. We support project for economic justice, confront unjust systems and take a corporate stance when appropriate (General Chapter 2009) Facing the challenges of globalisation (Moral degradation, devaluation of values, inclination of women trafficking cases and children, ecological disturbance) through appreciation of life and enviroment. ASSISTING VICTIMS AND THEIR FAMILY Victims of trafficking in Jakarta Our works: provide shelter supply their urgent needs accommodate their return to family. 2. Victims of trafficking in Flores: 461 families with 80 of these families have been loss contact with husband. Our works: 1. Empowering women: Micro credit (pigs), weaving production, food business. 2. Educating children: scholarship for students of junior and senior high school. 3. Home visit: monthly visit to different groups; individual and family counselling. Referral5 outreach1 other4

REACHING OUT PROGRAM We visited hundreds of victims (deported from Malaysia) in Tanjung Priok Harbor,and we supplied urgent needs such as medical assistance for victims who were sick and depressed. We visited 4 victims in hospital and 10 victims in shelters managed by NGOs. We interviewed 14 victims at terminal 4 (a special airport for arrival of Indonesian migrant workers). We visited 11 abandoned children of migrant workers in shelter. We visited 200 victims in shelter (managed by Indonesian government): we provided spiritual services for Christian (mass and recollection) and vocational training (cooking and handicraft). We visited 199 migrant workers who were trapped by their agencies.

ADVOCACY PROGRAM Changes the term JAMAL (widows of migrants workers in Malaysia) to ISMI (wifes of migrants) – the first term has pejorative meaning. Create network with religious, Non-government Organizations, and Indonesian government to give financtial support. i.e Bishops in Ruteng. Bring issues of trafficking and migration to local government and churches. Create groups of teenager combating human trafficking Produce leaflets and posters Create a forum discussion to advocate women issues

OUR PROGRAM Trainings for community leaders of 8 parishes in Ruteng to assist victims (trafficking and violence against women) and their families. Public meeting to disseminate data of Indonesian Migrant Workers situation in Ruteng. Public meeting to discuss problems of migrant workers and their families in Ruteng. Insisting local government in Ruteng to produce regulation for the rights of migrant workers. Setting-up teen communities in Batam to combat human trafficking. Film production on human trafficking (Jakarta) Providing immediate help for victims (Jakarta, Batam, Ruteng)
