Chapter 13-2 Part 2
Projectile Motion and Gravity Projectile motion is the curved path an object follows when thrown or propelled near the surface of the Earth. Has two components - horizontal and vertical.
Horizontal Motion Horizontal motion is the motion that is parallel to the ground. When you throw a ball, your hand gives the ball its horizontal motion.
Vertical Motion Vertical motion is the motion that is perpendicular to the ground. Gravity causes vertical motion.
Orbiting and Gravity An object is orbiting when it is moving around another object in space. Orbiting & Centripetal force is the unbalanced force that makes an object move in a circular path around another object. Gravity & the solar system: gravity provides the centripetal force on the planets and their moons that keeps them in orbit
LET’S SEE HOW IT WORKS !!!!!
