Lesson Twelve Video Sensing
Skills
Create a new project Title it Lesson 12
We have to add the video sensing extension
Now you have new video code blocks
Try turning your video on You also use this code block to turn your video off or to flip your video
Try different levels of transparency
We can code the cat to sense our movements and to react to them Add an if loop and an operator that will sense when the video motion on our sprite is greater than 50 (you can decrease the number to make more sensitive)
Let’s have the cat hide if we touch him Note that we also need a show code at the beginning of our program We also need a forever loop so that the program constantly checks for this condition
Does yours work?
Can you make the cat pop again in a random location?
Solution
Can you make the cat give some directions?
Solution
Select My Blocks and click Make your own block Select My Blocks and click Make a Block

We are defining what our new code block will do Add a series of commands underneath the new block to make your sprite dance We are defining what our new code block will do

Your Turn! Make your own video sensing game Must interact in some way with the sprites in the program Create your own code block to give yourself a shortcut BONUS: Can you create a program where the video turns on and off and key times? Submit to Lesson 12 in the class studio.
