The Near Future Tense We use the near future tense to talk about what we are going to do. To make the near future tense you need to use the correct part.
The verb “aller”. aller = to go je vais nous allons il va he’s going elle va she’s going on va one’s going / we’re going ils vont they’re going elles.
Conjugating regular -er verbs in the present tense Take -er off the infinitive and add these endings: je-enous-ons tu-esvous-ez il/elle-e ils/elles-ent.

Formula Aller conjugated in present tense + infinitive verb Ex: Je vais nager. Nous allons regarder la télévision.

Is there another way to do the future? Yes, you use will/shall. But this is not what we are learning now.

But in English there is the verb IS! Shouldn’t we use etre? No. The verb is go and the form in English is progressive so we use is/are going to. But the verb we mean is GO not BE.

Practice Are you going to eat now? What are we going to do? They are going to make some videos. She is going to play hockey. I am going to go to class at 8am. He is going to go skiing/ski in Flagstaff in winter.
