Prophetic Events: Part 1 of 7 Introduction Prophetic Events: Part 1 of 7 Joshua P. Stewart February, 2016

The subject of prophecy Why should we look into Prophecy? Two thirds of our Bible is about Prophecy “We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” II Peter 1:19 “And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as He is pure.” I John 3:3 “Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.” John 15:15 “Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.” Rev. 1:3 The subject of prophecy

The subject of prophecy The subject of prophecy is the Lord Jesus Christ. “Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself: That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him: In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.” Eph. 1:9-11 This earth is the place that God has chosen to accomplish His will concerning His Son. As a result, Israel and the nations come into view in prophecy, but they are not the subject of prophecy themselves. God’s purpose is to glorify His Son. Prophecy tells us how He will accomplish that purpose. The subject of prophecy
