The Final Presentation Pitch your Historical Movie Idea!

1. Title Slide: 1 Slide Your production company name Logo The producers of the film (you and partner)

2. Feature Slide- 1 Slide Here is where you identify the exact historical event, topic, or person that your movie will focus on. Give the name of your film! (See best movie titles and worst movie titles) Include images Be sure to identify the type of movie (genre) that you are planning on producing for this event, topic, or person: TV miniseries, feature-length epic, multi-part feature length epic, animated/CGI epic, or documentary, docudrama, or alternative History.

3. Historical Information **1-2 Slides Provide historical information based on your research of the event, topic, or person. Be brief, but provide enough detail that someone who may either know a little bit about this topic or nothing about this topic can easily catch on with where you might go with the movie. Provide a link to: 1. a website 2. a Primary Source- Provide a link to a Primary source that the story line of your movie can use.

4. Historical Accuracies/Inaccuracies Address the level of the productions Historical accuracy. What is your Historical “goal?” Will you add fiction? What would History teachers say? Provide a Historical Accuracy Score-

5. Why? 1 Slide Describe to the class why this idea will “be a hit” Why does your production company think audiences will come out to see this? What makes this topic special? Why is it interesting? Try to provide a fact (with source) that shows why this genre or story will be a hit! (see next slide for a possible way to find a fact)

6. Similar Film Research and describe to the class a film that is similar. What is different about your film? What makes it better? What makes this topic special? Why is it interesting?

7. Story Vision (NOT A FULL SCRIPT!) What do you envision the beginning of the movie will look like? Set the stage with a description? What do you see as being the “main historical events” within the movie? Where do you see the main character or the main event looking like at the midpoint of the movie? d. How do you envision the end of the movie? Is there the “AAAHHH” factor?

8. Characters Main character introduction a. Identify MAIN character/characters Not supporting characters, but those that the main part of the story will focus on. -Can be a hero, villain, love interest, antihero, etc. b. Who is this character historically? c. What role do they play in the movie? d. What relationship do they have to the other characters? Supporting character introduction a. Identify SUPPORTING characters. These characters can either come from the actual event, topic, or person OR can be a fabricated character developed by the creators (YOU). b. What role do they play in the movie?

9. Casting What is the cast? Provide Reel vs. Real? (make duplicate slide of 8?) Provide Images + the some of the actors filmographies! CAN BE LIVING OR DEAD!!!

10. Director a. Provide a picture of the director. b. Provide a filmography of the director. c. Defend why you believe this director would be perfect to direct your movie. -Provide specific evidence from one (or a number) of their other movies that would lead you to choosing this director.

11. Marketing What is your “target audience?” What is the film rated? Why? Age range, country, ethnicity, sex? Who are you trying to sell this movie to? What are your marketing strategies? How will you advertise this movie? How will you “create buzz?” **Bonus Opportunities (not required=) Film Trailer, Film Radio Commercial!

Movie Poster You can use PhotoShop, Pages, or a similar program to design a poster for your movie. You may pay homage to posters from the past with your overall scheme and design. You may even cut-and-paste actor/actresses faces onto historical figure images or onto existing posters.
