Role of Our Peer Mentors! Provide a friendly, welcoming presence to all students who come into the advising office. Provide accurate information about the Biomedical Sciences majors. Make appropriate referrals to professional advising staff and campus resources. Be a good listener. Respect the autonomy and confidentiality of all students. Biomedical Sciences B.S. degree updates MCB 4414 Microbial Metabolism is no longer required Restricted Electives: Instead of 7 courses, students must now take 5 out of the list, 2 must have lab components. Unrestricted upper level electives: Minimum 9 credits (to satisfy the 48 upper level credits required by UCF). Can be satisfied with upper level courses outside of the BSBS. Note: These changes do not apply to the Tracks.

Biotechnology B.S. degree updates MCB 4414 Microbial Metabolism is no longer required PCB 4174 Bio-Imaging is no longer required Students now have the choice to take either BSC 3403C Quantitative Biological Methods or MCB 4721C Methods in Biotechnology but not both for the degree. Unrestricted upper level electives: Minimum 10 credits (to satisfy the 48 upper level credits required by UCF). Can be satisfied with upper level courses outside of the BSBS.

Frequently Asked Questions by Prospective/Incoming Students Is BSC 2011C Biology II required for Biomedical Sciences? Does BSC 2011C Biology II substitute BSC 3403C Quantitative Biological Methods? Is MCB 2010 equivalent to MCB 3020C General Microbiology? Are Anatomy and Physiology I and II equivalent to ZOO 3733C Human Anatomy and PCB 3703C Human Physiology? Are Anatomy and Physiology required for the Biomedical Sciences degree? Are the classes for the Biomedical Sciences degree offered in the Main Campus only?

Regarding the Medical Laboratory Sciences Program… Limited-Access Accepts Anatomy and Physiology I and II from State/Community Colleges Accepts MCB 2010 Microbiology Admission into the program contingent upon science prerequisites, review of application, letters of recommendation and interview. The program is 2 years and Full Time.
