Skills Adding an extension to Scratch Coding instruments Writing music

You will need headphones! Create a new project Title it Lesson Five You will need headphones!

Keep your cat and add this drum sprite

We have to add the music extension

Now you have new music code blocks

Add this code to your drum Try clicking on the drum – does it work?

Click arrow to switch drums Let’s build a beat Click arrow to switch drums

Just add a costume change after each drum beat Now animate your drum Just add a costume change after each drum beat

It should work like this

Let’s make our cat dance when we play the drum The trigger is the sound He needs a start position This gives him some dance moves

Tip Let’s make our cat musical, too! Music can also be triggered through broadcast commands (no clicking on sprites necessary) Tip
