DELIMITATION OF THIS STUDY The boundary set by the researcher. Specific organisation Population

LIMITATIONS OF THIS STUDY Limitations are influences that the researcher cannot control. They are short comings, conditions or influences that cannot be controlled by the researcher. RESEARCH DESIGN Research design is a plan of how you will go about Answering your research questions. To collect data and analyses data's Three designs are available: Quantitative – numerical data (numbers) Qualitative – Non- numerical data ( words, images, etc.) Mix Methods – combination of quantitative and qualitative elements

POPULATION AND SAMPLING Population is complete set of cases or group members. Sampling Subgroup or parts of a larger population. Sampling Technics Probability sampling Simple random, systematic sampling, stratified random, cluster, multi – stage. Non – probability sampling Quota , purposive, volunteer (snowball and self – selection) Haphazard (convenient)

VALIDITY AND RELIABILITY Reliability refers to the application and consistency to reduce bias. Validity refers to the appropriateness of the measure used. Types of validity Internal validity, external validity

DATA INSTRUMENTS, COLLECTION AND ANALYSIS Qualitative Methods: Interviews, observations, focus group discussion, open- ended questionnaires, interviews Analysis: Thematic analysis, Template analysis, Explanation Building and testing, Grounded Theory method, Discourse analysis, Content analysis, Narrative Analysis Quantitative Method: Closed-ended questionnaires Analysis: SPSS(graphs, histograms, bar graphs)

DATA PRESENTATION Quantitative: display in graphs, histograms, bar charts, Qualitative: display in explanations
