Receiving God’s Love

The Bible invites us to remain in God’s love, yet how many struggle even to receive God’s love! Jude 1:21 keep yourselves in God’s love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life. John 15:9 “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”

When I receive and remain in God’s love, it revolutionizes my prayer life! 1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are!

Isaiah 49:15 “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you!” Isaiah 66:13 “As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you; and you will be comforted over Jerusalem.”

God’s love poured into my heart is a real heart-experience of being loved by God! Romans 5:5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

Ways to Live in God’s Love 4 Ways to Live in God’s Love

➀ Receive God’s love every morning! Lamentations 3:22-23 22 Because of the LORD’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. 23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness. Psalm 92:1-2 1 It is good to praise the LORD and make music to your name, O Most High, 2 proclaiming your love in the morning and your faithfulness at night,

➁ Receive God’s love at the beginning of every worship service and prayer gathering! Matthew 6:9 “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. . . .”

➂ Declare and receive God’s love when you face life’s battles! 2 Chronicles 20:21 After consulting the people, Jehoshaphat appointed men to sing to the LORD and to praise him for the splendor of his holiness as they went out at the head of the army, saying: “Give thanks to the LORD, for his love endures forever.”

➃ Declare and receive God’s love when you feel all alone like a spiritual orphan! Romans 8:15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” John 14:18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you.

God wants to heal your love receptors!

Father God, I submit myself, spirit, soul, and body, wholly to you Father God, I submit myself, spirit, soul, and body, wholly to you. I declare the supremacy of the Lord Jesus Christ over my life and over all things. Unclog any sin-blocking areas of my life. Heal my love receptors that I may more freely receive and remain in your love. I thank you, Almighty God, that you overcome all the work of the enemy in me. Forgive me for believing the lie that I am all alone like a spiritual orphan. In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I declare my victory over this spiritual stronghold. In Jesus’ name, I tear it down! I declare that I am free in Christ, now and forever!

Loving Father, by faith I now receive more fully your Holy Spirit of adoption (Romans 8:15). I claim my inheritance as a child of God. I lay hold not only of the assurance of my salvation, I also receive a fuller measure of my salvation. Pour out your love into my heart afresh through the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5). May I be rooted and established in love and have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, and to know this love that surpasses knowledge (Ephesians 3:18). Thank you, Jesus! I am a child of God! I am loved! I am blessed! I am forgiven! I am adopted with all the rights and privileges of a child of God! Hallelujah! Amen.
