Informative answers to the ever growing vaping trend.. Vaping Dangers Informative answers to the ever growing vaping trend.. No scare tactics- just facts!

that have been turned into a vapor by the use of heat. What is vaping? Vaping is the breathing in / inhalation of Nicotine and other flavorings that have been turned into a vapor by the use of heat.

What do people use to “Vape”? Juul What do people use to “Vape”? E-Cigarette *Juuls can appear to be a USB, Cell Phone, Asthma Inhaler, and other popular/legal items.

The flavoring is what seems to appeal to underage users What is the flavoring? The “e-liquid” cartridges, or "JUUL pods," come in thousands of flavors including everything from “Mango” to "cool mint" or "fruit medley”. The flavoring is what seems to appeal to underage users and it’s what makes vaping seem “harmless”

How much Nicotine is in a Juul Pod? One Pod contains the same amount of Nicotine as one package of cigarettes. The problem is less about the Nicotine and MORE about how you are getting that Nicotine into your body. THE PROBLEM LIES IN THE HEAT. However: Nicotine is addictive and harmful to the developing brain (25 and under)

THE HOTTER THE DEVICE MAKES IT, THE MORE TOXIC IT IS What’s the problem with the ingredients in a Pod if they can also be found in certain foods like margarine or butter spray? The main problem with vaping, is that it takes harmless ingredients (found in the chemicals and flavors) and turns them into something toxic just by heating them up to the level needed to make it a vapor. THE HOTTER THE DEVICE MAKES IT, THE MORE TOXIC IT IS

Lung issues (more on this later), dry mouth, teeth and gum What are some side effects of vaping? Lung issues (more on this later), dry mouth, teeth and gum issues, persistent cough, cancer risk, and even strange things like cuts on the body that don’t heal fast or well.

Well, regular “vaping” can lead to a cough that won’t go away. What do you mean “persistent” cough? Well, regular “vaping” can lead to a cough that won’t go away. There is something called “POPCORN LUNG” Read here from the American Lung Association! —->

American Lung Association Reports.. Shows us that there’s danger behind vaping without Nicotine (just flavors). “Over a decade ago, workers in a microwave popcorn factory were sickened by breathing in “Diacetyl"—the buttery-flavored chemical in foods like popcorn, caramel and dairy products. While this flavoring may be tasty, it was linked to deaths and hundreds of cases of “Bronchiolitis Obliterans", a serious and irreversible lung disease. As a result, the major popcorn manufacturers removed diacetyl from their products, but some people are still being exposed to diacetyl - not through food flavorings as a worksite hazard, but through e-cigarette vapor.”

Watch: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2017/02/06/dripping-may-new-dangerous-trend-teens-who-vape/97547428/ People say “they aren’t proven to be harmful” Right. But..there hasn’t been enough time to study and track all the health side-effects over the past decade. Vaping just became a popular thing- and research will be playing catch up for awhile. Anyone using Juuls or other Vaping devices right now are the GUINEA PIGS or TEST DUMMIES We’ll know more in a decade or two- when we start to see cancer spikes, etc.

A few reasons why that is not true: Vaping websites say this is safer than cigarette smoking.. A few reasons why that is not true: They want your money and they want young people hooked for life. “Safer” doesn’t mean “SAFE”. Walking outside in a big lightening storm is also “safer”. Studies haven’t been conclusive yet in proving it harmful- so marketers are taking advantage of that.

Why is this the business of schools? Another law regarding teens is: Laws! It is illegal for students to smoke or possess e-cigarettes or Juuls on school property. *This is due to lack of FDA approval for e-cigarettes. ————————————————————————————————————- Another law regarding teens is: Anyone under the age of 18 cannot buy e-cigarettes/vapes

Are there any future concerns? Definitely.. Just like other smoked substances, it will become more and more common that these liquids will be knowably or unknowably laced with other drugs. Xanax, Cocaine, Heroine, etc. ————————————————————————————————————- That is terrifying.

Why is this a social issue? Watch this: https://www.cnn.com/2016/12/08/health/surgeon-general-report-on-e-cigarettes/index.html So many teens today who would never smoke cigarettes or do drugs are VAPING because it sounds and tastes harmless. This is a “gateway” substance. Which means- they are more likely to get involved in other drugs now that they’ve tried this. Drug users usually get angry by this statement- but it is a proven fact based on statistics.

MAIN POINT It’s less about the NICOTINE and MORE ABOUT how you are getting it into your body. Certain substances turn TOXIC when you heat them up. *Cancer-causing* (…even just the flavors) *This explains why you could never compare Vaping (Nicotine) to someone who drinks a lot of caffeine.
