Installation Art

Installation Art When an art work is described as site-specific it means that it couldn’t be transferred to another place: the space it belongs to is a part of the overall experience. In site-specific work, the content of the art and its location work together to tell a story, and improvisation is often used to generate initial ideas.

Location Matters Barbara Kruger Her red and black type has appeared across New York over the past few decades and billboards, bus shelter posters, building banners and other public modes of address. What questions do you want to ask about this work?

Size Matters Tiny Melting Ice Men Sculptures, Steps of Berlin concert Hall Christo and Jeanne-Claude, detail of 'Valley Curtain, Rifle, Colorado

Light Matters Cornelia Parker – Cold, Dark Matter: An Exploded View from 1991
