The Commercial Revolution was a period, from the 1000s to the 1300s, when money and trade grew in importance in Europe.
The Commercial Revolution occurred in Europe due to an increase in trade, which was caused by the Crusades.
Some effects of the Commercial Revolution on Europe included:
1. The development of towns and cities, along trade routes. Venice, Italy
2. The development of an economy based on capitalism, in which prices for goods were based on demand. Medieval Trade Fair
3. The rise of a middle class and the end of feudalism. X X X
4. The formation of guilds, banks, and joint-stock companies, to manage businesses and money.
5. The expansion of European influence overseas.
6. The spread of diseases, including the spread of the bubonic plague (or Black Death).
