When do we use these words? When we are talking about items from a group or list We can use them in front of nouns or in place of nouns When do we use these words? Other Another Others The other

Examples The students in the class come from many countries. One of the students is from Mexico. Another student is from Iraq. Another is from Japan. Other students are from Brazil. I have three books. One is mine. Another is Sheila’s. The other is yours. I have three books. One is mine. The other books are yours.

When you are talking about one item from a group or list, not the LAST one, just a random one. Meaning: “one more in addition to or different from the ones already mentioned.” Use it similar to A or AN There are three letters on the table, but I expect another (one) (letter) to come Monday. It can also mean “an additional” or “more” when used with expressions of time, money, and distance I will be here for another three years. I will be here for three more years.
