Bringing Order to Chaos Disaster Plan should include a single point of contact within the institution Also a back up person when 1st isn’t available Internal interests go thru the ‘crisis manager’ Crisis manager is not media contact

Managing an Event Internal interests such as deans, food service, dorm staff, facilities and maintenance all route questions to the Crisis Manager External vendors have a single communication point to start with Periodic group meetings so all interested parties can hear news first hand Daily or even twice daily

Disaster Plan Software Uses Designated ‘crisis office’ Pre-agreed routes of entry Routes and storage areas mapped out Key building systems identified Information easily retrievable Stored off-site securely Value added training tool
