Authors and Institutional Affiliations Title Authors and Institutional Affiliations INTRODUCTION (background and purpose of research The background information typically consists of a statement summarizing the current knowledge in an area. A hypothesis can be included. ) RESULTS (includes the quantitative data. Usually begins with a description of those who were not included because they failed to meet the inclusion criteria or dropped out. Include the frequencies of the most important outcome variables. DISCUSSION (state concisely what can be concluded from the study and it METHODS (research design; research setting; number of patients enrolled in the study and how they were selected; a description of the intervention (if appropriate); and a listing of the outcome variables and how they were measured. Finally, the statistical methods used to analyze the data are described. )
