Insert Your Science Fair Project Title Name Course Name Period Morris
Background Information: Gives the history of the concept you have chosen to study Explains the significance of your study Includes an “in-text” citation For Example: “Darwin stated that all organisms evolve due to natural selection brought about by random genetic mutations” (2014, Darwin).
Evidence of Research Pictures of the research notes you have taken and kept either in your lab notebook or other papers.
Hypothesis: I(We) believe that ____________________ if I(we) _______________________ because _______________________________. This is a significant scientific investigation because _____________________________ ____________________________________.
Materials Used: Insert a list of ALL materials that will be needed for your project
Experimental Design A numbered procedure that explains in GREAT detail the procedure you followed for your experiment NOTE: This may require more than one slide!
END OF 1st Nine Weeks WORK All previous slides must be completed and e-mailed to Miss Morris by October 8th 2014 E-mail: stephanie.n.morris@gmail.com OR morrist@rcboe.org
Experimental Design Insert Pictures of your completed experimental set up!
Data Collected Create a chart that details all the data collected from your experiment!
Data Collected: Pictorial evidence as to how you collected your data
Data Collected (Graph) Create a line-graph that demonstrates the outcome of your experiment Note: Dependent/responding variable is found on the y-axis of a graph and the independent variable is found on the x-axis of a graph
Data Analysis On this slide state your data in words. DO NOT explain what it means just state the information found on the line graph and the data chart in words!
Conclusions: Answer the following questions (this may take more than one slide): What does your data mean? Does it support or negate your hypothesis? What was an expected/unexpected outcome? Were there any sources of error that you know of? Are there sources of error that you think may exist, but you did not identify earlier? How does your data contribute to the field you investigated? What might future experiments you undertake in this field look like?
References: List all references used (books, websites, magazine articles, etc.) Should be in CSE format EXAMPLE:
Acknowledgements: Who helped to make your project possible? Thank them here! People who bought supplies for your Research authors Teachers you spoke with Scientists you studied Peers who you consulted
HINTS: Change the background style/ layout of your PPT to make it unique Use more pictures that required to make it more engaging DO NOT WAIT TO BEGIN YOUR PROJECT When in doubt, reference the rubric that the science department is using for the project!
