Jazz’s Top Dances
The Jitterbug The Jitterbug, also known as The Lindy Hop, was popular from the 1920’s all the way to the 1950’s. This was a very upbeat dance that you needed a partner to perform with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tRFL4q5m7c
The Tango The Tango was popular again in the 1920’s and needed a partner to perform with. This dance was much slower compared to the Jitterbug but wasn't as slow as something like the waltz. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eZi03rl0K1c
The Waltz The Waltz was popular starting in the 1920’s going on to even now. People everywhere have heard of this dance. For this dance you will need a partner again and be able to go a little bit slower than the tango. The difference between the waltz of the jazz age and the classical waltz were mainly stylistic: the songs were more funky and often faster, but the steps remained the same. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ge9b8jld1oM
