Les adverbes…

Une definition… Qu’est-ce que c’est un adverbe? A word that describes a verb, an adjective ou another adverb. Explain when, how, how often, ou to what degree something is done. En anglais, these usually end in “-ly” Can you think of some exemples?

En français… Most, but not all adverbs en français, end in « -ment » which is equivalent to « -ly ». généralement possiblement rarement ** Généralement, these are used to describe the way in which something occurs.

Les expressions de temps… Some adverbs en français can be used to say « how often » can activity occurs. These include: souvent beaucoup régulièrement de temps en temps rarement jamais often alot regularly from time to time rarely NEVER

Comment est-ce que tu…??? Certain adverbs en français are used to tell « how well » an activity is done… These include: très bien bien mal très mal very well well badly very badly

Dans une phrase… En français, similaire à en anglais, l’adverbe is IMMEDIATELY after le conjugated verb. J’adore chanter, mais je chante très mal!  Elle nage souvent parce qu’elle nage bien. 

Les questions qui correspondent… Comment est-ce que tu…? Je danse très mal! Est-ce que tu…? Non, je joue rarement le foot.
