Founding Documents

We will: Identify what is meant by America's "Founding Documents" I will: Re-write the Declaration of Independence in "plain- English"

"FOUNDING:" foundation; to find. Lesson A: "FOUNDING:" foundation; to find. "PRINCIPLES:" should be unchanging; Latin for principia = to begin or origin

Images of Principles: Which Founding Principles of America are illustrated in these pictures?

Do these images also represent those principles? Why or Why Not?

Conflicts WILL ALWAYS arise because: Interpretations will be different; FD are intentionally vague. Democracy allows for arguments.

2nd Amendment: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

Current Issues that did not exist with the Founding Fathers: Drones Cyber Terrorism Cell phone Privacy: Who Owns your Tweets? Founding documents tell us what our basic liberties are. We have build the house from the foundation to the never completed roof (issues will always arise).
